Our final day was spent exclusively at Colonial Williamsburg. We checked out of the condo, said goodbye to the pool, which really was the highlight for the girls, and headed downtown to the visitors center.
Colonial Williamsburg is cool because not only can you go into a bunch of places that are kept up and run just like they were in the Colonial period - places like the shoemaker, the hatmaker, the cooper - but they also have a little drama going on. Each day they have various reenactments to give visitors an idea what it was like to live there during the months leading up to the American Revolution. They have actors walking around doing all sorts of things like protesting the Stamp Act, threatening the Stamp Collector, watching the Colonial Governor abolish the House of Burgesses, yadda, yadda. It's pretty cool. I know Matt and I enjoyed it more than the girls. Oh well.
Here's sweet, sweet Leah. She was such a wonderful baby through this whole vacation. I can't believe what a great baby she is.
We started the day with an actual tour of the Governor's Mansion, which meant that we needed to stop again at the maze in the garden. Guess who was thrilled...
