It's All Happening at the Zoo

We celebrated Columbus day by going to the National Zoo in downtown DC. It was a beautiful, warm day. To our surprise, we encountered several old friends while at the zoo - including two old coworkers, my cousins that live in Manassas, a family we know from church - I teach one of their daughters in primary - and there were probably others I just don't remember. The funny part was that despite seeing all of these people, we never actually caught up with the group of people we were planning to meet up with. We were late and there were cell phone issues and then Ellie was through with the zoo after about two hours, etc. As we were making our way out of the zoo, we finally connected via cell phone, but we were leaving and they were not. Sad that we missed them, but as you can see, we ran into everyone else, so all in all it was a great trip!
