Go O's!!

My cousin, Troy, showed up in town unexpectedly this week, which was a great surprise. At his request, we took him to Camden Yards, Home of the Orioles, for the first time. Troy is a baseball fanatic. He even named his only son, Camden, after the ballpark. Plus, the O's were playing the Yankees and who doesn't want to root against the Yankees when they can? So we hit the road, braved all of the outrageous traffic, parked in a very sketchy lot about a mile from the park and managed to get into the game an hour late. Oh well. It was still a lot of fun. Most of the fun was just catching up with Troy. It's been probably about three years since we've seen each other. Of course, we enjoyed overpriced but yummy baseball food (hot dogs, ice cream, pretzels, etc). You just have to walk in thinking "hey, it's all a part of the experience, right?" when it comes to prices. At least the tix were half off. We also learned from experience why everyone hates the Yankees. It's not the team, it's the fans. Somehow we managed to get seated around quite a few Yankee fans, and boy are they obnoxious. And we weren't egging them on, I promise. They were just really vocal. Still, we had a great time. And the O's even won!
