They Weren't Bunnies After All

So the kicker about dreams is that - no matter how much you want them to - they don't change reality. Such is the case with my dream the other night. In the dream, I had solved the problem of the strange sound that went bump in the night simply by removing snakes, rabbits and then small boys out of my house. Seems the real problem was not coming from the pipes, but from the heater/A/C unit and resounding through the vents. So we got a technician to come in today and sure enough the entire system (which is original to our 20+ year-old house) needs to be replaced to the tune of some $3,500.00. Ah - the joys of home ownership! Some people make fun upgrades when they buy a new home - they put in granite countertops and new appliances in the kitchen; they repaint; they put in new flooring, etc. Not us. No sir. We spend the same amount of money to buy such things as new pipes (last year) and a new heater/AC unit, instead. What rotten luck. In the words of Charlie Brown: "Bleah."
