I'm a little behind on this post, but it definitely should be mentioned. We had a wonderful time this past Saturday at a pumpkin patch in Frederick, MD. We joined our good friends, the Campbells, the Childs, and the Zarcones.
The farm had everything to make Ellie quite possibly the happiest girl in the world. Plus there was no entry free - making Matt and I the happiest parents in the world. Here's the highlights.
The animals!!! Ellie LOVES looking at animals. She stared at the pigs and ducks forever. She actually got to pet the calf - and had to be physically dragged away from it. She also took her very first pony ride. Matt walked along with her. She kept saying "neigh, neigh" "bouncy, bouncy horsie."
The pumpkin picking. We took a hayride to the actual pumpkin patch and got to pick our pumpkins directly from the patch. I've never been in or even seen a pumpkin patch. It was a neat experience. Matt just loved the idea of pulling his pumpkin direct from the vine. Also the pumpkins were really affordable. We ended up getting two big pumpkins, one small one, two mini pumpkins, and four gourds for only $21. Who can beat that?
The wagons. Ellie LOVES to push or pull anything. After we got back from the pumpkin patch, everyone put their pumpkins into wagons to get them weighed and paid for. Ellie grabbed one of the wagons and pulled in through the entire barn (store). She looked so funny!! and of course, very determined. Everyone got a good laugh at it.

Anyway, the company was superb, the destination was excellent, and the crisp autumn weather was perfect. Who could ask for anything more?
