So the best part of living in a great city like DC is the fact that we often have visitors, and they give us an excuse to see some of the sights. This week, Matt's brother, Dirk, and his family stopped into town on their way to the Outer Banks. We joined them for a little touring and dinner Wednesday and Thursday. It was a great opportunity for Ellie to get to know her cousins a little better before our Astle family reunion in August. We all had a wonderful time. We joined them at the Iwo Jima Memorial on Wednesday and all day yesterday at Mt. Vernon. I ended up buying a year pass to Mt. Vernon so I could come back with the girls. They've made a ton of changes since I was last there (9 years ago). There's a great education building (with a fabulous hands on history room for kids) that I know we'll enjoy coming back to a lot.

That's great that you take advantage of all those great places. We'd love to come out sometime for a "tour." It's been a while since we've both been.
