And really it was non stop fun from that point on. Grandma got to go to two of Ellie's swim classes and her last dance class. Both Grandma and Grandpa played several games with Ellie. (She's become quite a game player lately.) Grandpa took Ellie to the parks several times and even on a hike through the woods by our house. Not to mention the princess trunk that they brought as well.
It took a little while for Annie to warm up to Grandma and Grandpa, but she did eventually. She even placed some full mouthed kisses on Grandpa. And that's saying something for a little girl who kept hugging my legs when they first arrived. Of course, Grandma and Grandpa were willing readers and that won Annie's heart right over. She is crazy in love with books.
And yes, while Ellie and Annie were spoiled with all of this attention, it was really me who was royally spoiled. I got to go to the store by myself with no children while the girls napped, I could make dinner and do any number of other chores while someone else entertained the girls, I had help getting the girls in car seats, and yes, even some naptime. It was wonderful!!!
Ellie was so sad when they left. It was really hard for her to say goodbye. I felt so bad. So now we're just going to have to figure out when we will see them again and my parents too for that matter. We can't wait see them again. We love Grandma and Grandpa!
