It's official! Ellie is now outfitted to be a princess. For the past little while she has really become interested in wearing dresses and being a "princess." What was most problematic about that was the fact that since we didn't have any dress up clothes, she was insisting on wearing her church dresses all day. Which required outfit changes when she wanted to play outside, etc. (I do not think that dresses are appropriate attire for running around at the park.)
So I knew we were going to have to get something for her to dress up in. Thankfully Grandma and Grandpa came to the rescue. It turns out they had a little chest with all sorts of dress up items including three princess dresses, scarves, necklaces, a wand, princess shoes (yes, the works) and they presented it to Ellie when they arrived last week.
Well, there never has been a more grateful little girl in the world. Grandma and Grandpa are the most beloved people in her world as well. She has worn a princess dress every day since she got them.
The one thing I like about the dress up princess dresses is that she wears her regular clothes under them, so we can quickly get them off when we need to go somewhere. And I've also made the rule that we only wear the dresses inside while we are playing. So they don't go outside the house. And she also doesn't wear them while she is eating.
It's been a pretty good set up. So there you go. Ellie has officially embraced the princess world and with great joy and rapture. Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa!
