I got a wonderful surprise Friday afternoon. A good friend dropped some homemade sugar cookies (which were decorated fabulously and tasted great too, I might add) for me as a Mother's day gift. I was completely blown away by her simple, but profound gesture. It was absolutely unexpected, but of course, very welcome --the best kind of gift.
It kind of reminded me that Mother's day is more than celebrating our own personal mothers, but also paying respect and showing appreciation to other mothers we know and love. What a important reminder. I hope all of the mothers I know have a fantastic day today. It really is one of the hardest jobs out there, and now I can say that from experience. Happy Mother's day.
