Assigned Birthday

For various medical reasons, my doctor and I have agreed to deliver my upcoming baby via elective c-section. The consequences of this decision are many and varied, but the one that struck me on Tuesday was the fact that we have finalized the day of delivery. We are scheduled for surgery on November 6th. It's kind of a weird thing to be able to say more than five months in advance - this is the day my baby will be born. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great. We can plan everything to the day as opposed to playing the guessing game we played when Ellie was born. Still, it seems little surreal. But the date is set and the hospital is scheduled. Crazy, huh?
