We spent the first part of our trip in Arizona at my parents house, just west of Phoenix. My baby brother, John, graduated from college and we attended the ceremony. The weather was actually livable, in the 80s and low 90s, which for Phoenix is nice. The girls loved playing in the baby pool my parents set up in the backyard. Annie enjoyed it so much we were convinced that she's got a career as a beach bum ahead of her. Ellie especially loved my parents' cat, Basil. It's a good thing Basil is exceptionally docile because Ellie probably deserved to be batted a couple of times. We also celebrated my sister, Lissa's, birthday.

Ellie found these three rocking chairs and right away she knew exactly what to do. Get her doggie for the baby one, get me in the big one and rock in the little one by herself. She was pretty excited.
