For family night we headed out to the White House to see the National Christmas Tree. The weather was perfect yesterday - in the 60s. There are so many fun things there each year. The large Christmas tree is surrounded by tons of trains and little villages (always a big hit with us). There are smaller trees that are decorated with ornaments from each state and territory. It's fun to see how each tree is decorated. In the evenings they have performers playing Christmas music. While we were there, we saw a local school choir and a bell choir. Ellie stared intently at the girls and boys singing. They also have a big hug fire pit with a yule log and a very nice nativity scene. Ellie wanted to look at the baby Jesus for several minutes. As we started to leave the manger scene, she stopped us and said, "No I want to look at baby Jesus longer." How can you argue with that? And new this year, was Santa's workshop complete with Santa. Each family was able to talk with Santa and get one free 5&7 picture.* Is that great or what? And, maybe because it was a Monday night, the line was really short. Annie is still terrified of Santa, so I held her instead. But Ellie had fun sitting on his lap again.

That is actually a great family photo! You KNOW it is warm outside when Santa has to take off his jacket!
Oh man! I think I'll miss it this year :-(
Glad you had 4 times the fun on my behalf!
Perhaps one of these years we could do one of these activities together - the National Tree sounds like tons of fun! You are right - there is so much fun stuff to do around here!
